NOT FOR THE WEAK STOMACHS!!

Please avert your eyes if you have a weak stomach, or have just eaten from L & L's. (just kidding) Well after my last blog, we were set out to kill and I mean KILL...some rats. Phase 1 - clean house, only letting the scent of food come from traps..(see phase 2). Phase 2 - set large traps with sticky food (peanut butter & bread work best). Phase 3 - do not hurt self in process of setting up traps. Phase 4 - place traps in irresistable places...in front of stove, on counter next to stove, in front of cupboard where they have left trails. Phase 5 - WAIT!! Don't worry it won't be long.....................
...........go to bed...............read scriptures............SNAP!!!
We went out to see Rat #1 (for tonight) in a trap very dead, leaving a nice puddle of blood. There is no picture of Rat #1, because I was not thinking of this fun documentation during the time of clean up and removal. Jase picked up the trap and put him in a bag, I then HAD to take him out to the dumpster outside....YUCKY!! We then went to bed..thinking that the action was over for the night...yeah right!

Awaken by SNAP!! (no longer than 1/2 hour later)

Rat #2 - still breathing, twitch..twitch and then dead!!

While rat #2 was twitching I ran to find the girls Pinata bat so Jase could wack the bugger.

AFter rat is already dead...Jase pretends to wack it. Another cleanup and removal. We then pulled out more traps, and set them. Then we went to bed.

I woke up about 6 am, very nervous that the dog or child might find a rat trap (even though we baracaded the kitchen off). I went to the kitchen to find more of our "friends".

Rat #3 infront of the dishwasher!

Rat #4 infront of the cupboard where we have caught many a rat.

Then the last trap which was on top of the counter had it's bait contents removed, but no rat....very disturbing!! So after a long battle the war is not yet over. Tonight we go again!

    4. oh my grossness! those suckers are huge! did any of the girls ever see them? horrifying! good luck. oh, man goog goood luck!

    5. WOW I can only imagine how fast your heart rates were going when the two of you found those rats lol Corey is gonna love to see those pictures. Glad you atleast got rid of 4 so far, if only you knew where their main getaway was so you could catch em before hand. Well good luck, keep us posted!

    6. ewwwww! that is sooooooo grody grody grody gross. Umm...maybe we will just hang out in our furnitureless apartment until it is time to leave hawaii. by the way, if the saying is you see one rat, then you have 10...does that mean that you have 40 or 50 of those buggars hidden in the walls, chewing on left over nibbles of the girls' snacks, and biding their time until they send out the foot clan to be snapped by traps so they can have at the real feast?

    8. just don't look up in your attic! or shoot up into it. IF you have an attic. maybe you killed the "sniffer" and the rest won't be smart enough to withstand your inventiveness.

      good luck!

    9. Seriously freaky! When Erin told me about the rats you and she have at your places before I visited I wondered if she might have been embellishing a bit. But when she caught one the very first night I was there and I saw how big and gross they are - I knew she was speaking the truth. Ahh, the downside of paradise.

    10. And I thought mice were big. You guys are BRAVE! I would have been staying at a hotel after the first sight of those HUGE things!
