Zoo trip with HeadStart

Apr 22, 2008 | Family Life | 8 comments

HeadStart, Klai’s preschool goes on field trips quarterly. I was excited that they were going to the Zoo this time, and I was able to go. We drove separately and met her class there. Rykel and Shae were stoked to be going on a special field trip with Klai.

Here is her class lined up to go in.

One of the first stops inside the Zoo is the pond underneath the monkey trees.

Throughout we saw many animals; crocodiles, gorillas, turtles, monkeys, lizards, snakes, hippos, peacocks, birds and so much more.

This is a picture of most of her class in front of the Zebras and Giraffes. My favorite animals.

After having Lunch with her class, they left and we were able to go back in and visit the petting zoo. I had never been there and I knew the kids would love it.

They have a special goat area where you can sit and pet the goats. They are very tame.

The girls loved this part. although…Shae was not a fan.

Next came the aquarium, a big tank that had a tunnel underneath to see the fish.

Shae thought it was the greatest thing; first a tunnel and then great treasure to see the fish up close.

And last there is a fun area where you can dress up like a zoo keeper and play with the poop picker uppers (not used). They loved it.

I love field trips.

What you should have done is collected extra of those outfits and had the girls use them around the house to pick up after rusty…It it about time those two learned the true meaning of ‘dirty work’. hahahahaha

we went on that field trip last year with Kailee and it was fun. we got in trouble by the bird lady at the bird cages because Robbie, Tala, Nadia and I were being too noisy in there. Oops! BUt the kids sure did have fun. Honolulu zoo is the cheapest zoo I’ve been to. It’s awesome….
