Evelin Marie Auli’ilani Bennett

What a beautiful view from the room. And such a beautiful place to have a baby in.

We checked in May 20th, 2010 at 5:30am, checked & i.v. in by 6:30. Got my antibiotic for the Strep B & then got this party started with Pitosin. After an hour and half, Dr. Chapman came in to check me & see how I was doing. Still at a 3 almost 4cm dilated, she broke my water. She wants this baby to come!! I like this doctor. The contractions got closer together & the intensity was immense, I sat on the ball & worked through them. I like the ball, I’ve never used it before & it seemed to help for a while. About 11ish I got checked again & I was at a 6-7cm. The contractions were intense so I decided to go with the epidural. The doc came right before noon, my nursed slowed down my pitosin & the doc got my epidural in between contractions. This nurse, Donna, is my favorite & most helpful nurse I have ever had. The anesthesiologist was super fast & was very gentle. So the medicine kicked in, I could feel my legs but didn’t feel the pain. LIFE IS GOOD! So after a nap & a movie I began to feel pressure, and of course the baby has started to come. So the nurse shuts the pitosin off while they scramble to prep for the baby to come out. Dr. Chapman arrives at 2:00pm & as everything is ready to go, my contractions stopped & they are waiting for a contraction to push. The contractions started up again & I pushed for 15 minutes & baby was born at 2:18pm. YEAH!!

Baby Evelin arrives bright eyed & very quiet. They had to tickle & pinch her little toes to get her to make a noise. Hopefully that continues.

Weighing in at our 7lbs 8.2 oz she is our heaviest baby. I can’t wait to see if she will be a chunky baby.

I love her round little face & those perfect lips (she gets those from Jase)

After the arrival, we all needed a good nap.

Evelin
(EVE-lyn, NOT evelyn) Form of Evelyn: Life
Marie – after me! Derived from the name Mary is of Latin origin, and its meaning is ‘star of the sea’.
Auli’ilani: Auli’i which means Dainty, Cute, Exquisite, Cute, Perfect.
Lani – meaning from Heaven

Another meaning I found for Evelin: Life giving “Hebrew”
Very much the individual you have enormous energy and vision and must find a suitable use for your talents. You have great potential for success in business if you can guard against indecision and worry. Your generous nature means that you are never short of friends and with cooperation your relationships can be very rewarding. Perseverance and firm decision making will ensure you achieve your objectives.
