So this year Jase had the opportunity to do a show at the “Taste of Utah” for some Costco buyers, so Jase was there the week before Conference so he got to spend conference with his fam at the Conference center…Lucky BOY!
So the kids and I did conference in the Living room. This year I CAME prepared. Besides doing a conference packet that has activity/coloring pages for the kids I was inspired to do a conference bucket. My neighbor gave me the idea, but then Pinterest just expanded on it. Gosh I love pinterest.
So Conference Bucket included: (some items were specific per child)
Conference Coloring/Activity pages
Snacks: Cereal & Chips
Coloring Book for Littles
Stencils & scratch paper
Stickers
Puzzles
Quiet Toys: small animals, Lacing Cards, etc
Quiet Activity Item: crocheting, embroidery stuff, envelopes/letters
Small Books for littles
We also had the Special Word Snacks: treats, cookies, marshmallows, nuts, etc for specific words, like: Faith, Missionary, Family, Prophet, etc.
What a LIFE SAVER! Seriously I think this is the first time in years that I was able to listen to MOST of the Conference. The 2nd session today was less quiet, I think I needed to CHANGE the bucket almost completely so they were excited about the bucket. Memo to self…Change for each session, new activities and new snacks.
This General Conference I really tried to focus on a thought or struggle I needed help on. And what an amazing experience I had. I really had some great words come across to me to help me with my concerns. And how amazing that girls can go on a mission at 19, and boys at 18. WHAT a blessing to us all!
Thanks for the wonderful ideas! I always learn so much from you.
Rachel, you are FREAKING AMAZING!! Seriously, you always amaze me by what a gorgeous and super and awesome mom you are.
This bucket idea is brilliant!
We missed you! You are definitely amazing! Love you
