Homemade Applesauce!

Nov 9, 2013 | Family Life, Meal Time | 0 comments

One of the perks of living close to Calabios, is the plenty of produce that their garden produces. We actually picked these apples a couple of weeks ago….but due to my busy schedule and spacey mind, I pushed it back till I had TIME!

These apples are Golden Delicious…normally purchased from the store these would be no good. But straight from the apple tree, they are truly DELICIOUS!

So after many many hours of washing, cutting, boiling, processing, cinnamoning, then finally canning! BOOM! plenty and PLENTY of yummy jars filled with applesauce. The kids love the homemade unsweetened applesauce! Who wouldn’t?! If I pull out a jar for snack or meals, we go through 2-3 quarts at a sitting cause they can’t get enough.

I LOVE preserving food, especially for these cold winter months coming up!
