Surprise….California here we come!
Jan 6, 2014 | Travel, USA |
During the Winter break Jase had to run to California to start a roadshow before his rep could come in. Well since we were still out on school break, I thought it’d be great to join in on Jase’s fun trip.
So we took the kids to the Jase’s warehouse with the car packed…and then drove onto Vegas…..after an hour in the drive the kids started to ask questions, so we told them.
SURPRISE we’re going to CALIFORNIA!
Our first stop off was to swing through Vegas. We love passing through…but not stopping. The kids love to see the big buildings.
We arrived in California, set up everything at the hotel and Jase went to work. So the kids and I went out on an adventure! We went on a long walk to get our winter wiggles out and explore the area.
We visited a thrift shop and then onto a park. The kids were more than excited to see the sun, walk in it and of course play at the park.
#1 thing to do: Climbing trees!
We found this incredible plane made out of cement. The kids climbed all over it.
But then we had to play on the swings. Cora LOVES the swings.
Klai is our tree wonder girl. She loves to climb them & even more so…loves to jump out of them.
The Park was wonderful, here is the panoramic of it.
The Plane was epic.
But really the swings are one of the best thing for cabin fever.
On the way home we strolled through another shopping center and found some things we needed.
On the walk back to the hotel we found an awesome dollar store where we stocked up on some great easy dinner supplies and other items.
I have a feeling that these road trips are good for the sibling love and giggles.
At the dollar store we picked up “road trip” journals….later they will become autograph books for the Big D!
Our next adventure here in California while Daddy was at work…we hit up Home Depot for their kid building kit saturday. It was messy, crazy, but quite fun!
We then went to the BEACH and met up with some cousins.
It was so therapeutic seeing the sun, it warmed our souls and our skin.
Wyatt was always afraid of the big waves in Hawaii, but I think living without the ocean he was very excited to run into the waves here.
I love seeing the kids enjoy the water.
Even Cora couldn’t get enough of running on the sand.
AFter an enjoyable time hanging out on the beach with Cousin Amy and her fam, everyone came back to the hotel and we had a blast just talking story. The kids were quite sad when the kids had to go home.
We ended an awesome few days with a perfect Sunday visiting a ward in the area. Outside the building there was a mosaic and it was so beautiful.
This family work vacation has started off just perfect! I love getting away & spending time together.
