How to HAVE the BEST Mother’s DAY Ever

May 10, 2020 | Celebrate | 0 comments

Mother’s Day can be a bunch of hoopla, or simple and small…but will it be the best?! I sure hope its awesome.

Let’s make it awesome, I have 10 ways to make your DAY or your MOMS DAY amazing!

#1 – Be CLEAR! SHARE your WISH LIST.

Yep write down that wish list & share with the family, share with the hubby, share with the KIDS! Your list can be simple…”Mom wants a clean kitchen” or “CHOCOLATE!” It’s important that what you want is shared with those you love. WHY? Because if you have an expectation, you need to share that. Maybe that is why a previous day hasn’t been as awesome as you thought it could be. Make your expectations known, or take your expectations down a bit. Either way, SHARE your wish list!

#2 – TREAT Yo’ SELF!

Its your time. Treat yo’self to a treat, a new pair of shoes, a cookie, or a drive alone. When you think you may not get what you want on your wish list….treat yo’self to what you really want.

#4 Don’t Cook!

I love cooking, but I also love it when others cook for me. Tell the kids to cook something fun they can cook, tell hubby to grab some steak and BBQ it up! There are so many options…and if you don’t have cooks in the house, ORDER OUT! Yep, bite the bullet and order food you want. This is it people, this is the time to take a break and let others take the helm.

#5 PhotoShoot

So we have been selfish enough, and those mements will make you smile, but the ones that will make you remember this as the best MOther’s day ever…are the unselfish one! Starting with a PHOTOSHOOT!

Your kids want to see YOU in photos! We all know that you take the pics, you post hte pics, you are hardly ever in the PICS…so stop what you are doing and make another child take a pic of you with one of your other kids. Then trade it up, have every take a turn taking pictures. Yes they will turn out bad, but some will be good. You’ll have a laugh, you’ll have a memory and next year you’ll hire a professional. That’s ok. HAHAAH just kidding, each year will get better. But the kids will love looking back on you with them in a special one on one photo shoot!

Be-Kind-.jpg

#6 Be kind to yourself

Women are harsh, harsh to ourselves. We compliment others, we say nice things…but do we say these things to ourselves? probably not. Its time to be kind to yourself. Take a moment to find a notecard, a journal a pad of paper and write a few nice things to yourself. Write your accomplishments you did today. Pretend you are a friend and you need to hear these things; tell yourself you are beautiful, tell yourself what you do great that no one sees. Be kind, this will do more for your soul than you could ever imagine!

#7 Self Reflect Today, This year, This moment

Today is the day. You have written your kind notes. NOW write some memories down. I’m sure not many people physically journal anymore,…with FB and IG, who writes things down?! Well today you should. Even if this becomes the first time you write it down, lets make this a tradition. This will be a day you look forward to writing down, to reading about and it will be such a fun think to look back on.

What to write? Write about current events, write about your daily life right now, write about weird things motherhood has brought you to do…there is so much that can be written. Just write!

#8 Cuddles

We all need a HUG! Take time to hug these amazing children that have made you a mama, maybe they are nieces or maybe they are school kids you look after, who knows…just give them a good long hug. And as they grow older it won’t be so awkward, it’ll atleast be your mother’s day hug!

birth videos.jpg

#9 Walk down memory lane

The kids love seeing themselves as younger versions, babies and even just last year. BUT the birth videos are so special, the whole family will enjoy this! Go and spend time walking down memory lane & enjoy reliving those special times. Make this a tradition, or make it part of your WISH LIST! You’ll love it just as much as the kids will!

#10 Thank YOU’s

Yep time to write thank you cards…yes of course to your mom and other influential women in your life. BUT really its time to write thank you cards to your kids. They need to hear you love being a mom, that you love being their mom, they need to feel special. And spreading that love and joy to others will bring you joy and love. Nothing fills the heart more than showing gratitude. Tell them why you are so thankful to be their mom, why you love them RIGHT NOW, tell them. They will cherish these notes for a long time.

And you will end up having the BEST Mother’s Day ever! Because you deserve it!
