Christmas Treats Kids Can Cook

Dec 15, 2020 | Family Life, Meal Time | 0 comments

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for making treats. Today, I’m sharing with you a few Christmas treats kids can cook. You know I love involving my kids in the menu planning and cooking process. Holidays are no different.

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite Christmas treats kids can cook.

1. Cookies for Santa

There is no Christmas treat more classic than cookies for Santa. Kids love Santa and kids love cookies. So it makes sense to combine the two and involve kids in making cookies for Santa. Here are a few fun recipes to try.

2. Hot Chocolate Bar

One of my favorite ways to warm up during the cold winter months is with hot chocolate. Why not make a fun night out of it and create a hot chocolate bar with your kids. Make some yummy hot chocolate and be sure to have all the fixings on hand to add to your hot cocoa. Here are a few of our personal faves:

  • Marshmallows
  • Whipped cream
  • Candy Cane sticks
  • White chocolate chips
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Sprinkles
  • Pirouette Cookies

What are your favorite Hot cocoa toppings?

3. Grinch pancakes

Pancakes are a wonderful Christmas treat kids can make. They are easy to cook and fun to eat. Take your favorite pancake recipe and turn it green like the Grinch using food coloring. Feel free to add whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate chips, and any other fun toppings!

4. Rice Krispie treats

Rice Krispie treats are such an easy Christmas treat that kids can make. And there are so many fun ways to make them during the Holidays. Make classic rice Krispie treats or make something fun like rice Krispie treat Christmas trees

5. Side Dishes

Christmas is, of course, more than just treats. There is also the Christmas feast to be had. And kids can help with those preparations as well! Here are some ideas of side dishes your kids can help prepare for the big meal!

  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Veggie Tray and platter
  • Salad
  • Fruit Salad
  • Dinner rolls

There are really so many things they can help prepare!

I hope you involve your kids in the cooking this season. Tell me what culinary masterpieces your kids have made in the comments below!
