It’s that time again when everyone, including us, are setting goals and trying to stick to them. What about a Goal for more family time and traveling? That is one of the big things that we LOVE and we really try to make sure that we spend time as a family making memories and having experiences. And what better way to teach our kids about different places and cultures then taking them there to experience it. So why not make planning family trips and vacations apart of your New Year goals?? We definitely do, and since we love it so much, we love to share some of our ideas on how to plan for your next vacations throughout the year.
2020……………….. WAIT SCRATCH THAT, 2021
First things First
COVID, covid has changed a lot of things, especially Traveling!! But if you’ve been watching this last year and seeing where closed down, and who didn’t, you’ll have a pretty good idea where you might be able to plan your vacation next. Whether it’s within your own country, or maybe a few surrounding countries. But you definitely need to take that into account.
- is the border open?
- do you have to quarantine when there?
- do you need to take a covid test before your trip and maybe while there, and possibly after?
- check their local rules and regulations on masks, Social distancing, & entertainment availability.
The last thing you want to happen is to plan the trip, get there, and then have everything you wanted to be closed or shut down for any reason. STAY UP TO DATE ON THE LOCATION YOU ARE GOING TO.
1. What Kind of Trip
Family trip
The best time of year we have found is EARLY June or Late August for a big family vacation, flexible time is always easier, or during the off-season
Couple’s trip
We have always felt it’s important to renew and focus on your relationship. Whether it’s close to home or far away, that time is important. It could also be a “staycation” where you find that time a few towns away.
Individual trip
(FAMILY NEEDS TRIP)- these are usually a parent and child, or two kids. We like to make sure to give each of our kids that focus and attention.
Far away, Cruise, or Road trip
Each of these has pros and cons depending on what you want. But if you plan it out and do some research they are definitely all doable with some work put into them.
2. Budget
- how long-
- where-
- activities & fun
- possible covid tests
- Where can you cut back and budget to save for a trip?
3. How to Find the Best Deals on Travel | Planning Ahead
- Pomelo Travel-Â Â email subscription that helps you and sends you deals in your email for different destinations, and they send you directions on how to find that deal
- next vacay- email subscription where you tell them where your looking and they will email with those deals
4. Traveling Safely During COVID
Last but definitely not least- COVID (or any other thing that could come our way)! Covid has changed a lot of things, especially Traveling!! But if you’ve been watching this last year and seeing locations that closed down, and where didn’t, you’ll have a pretty good idea where you might be able to plan your vacation next. Whether it’s within your own country, or maybe a few surrounding countries. But you definitely need to take that into account.
