We are BIG movie watchers and LOVE all things movies…so it was time to really upgrade the theater to look more like a THEATER! This theater makeover is going to be one of many home makeovers this spring. Stay tuned to see what other makeovers we will be doing.
With the new year, we are ready to do some changes that have been needed for some time. But we wanted to wait till after the holidays before starting any big projects. Our home theater room makeover is going to be one of many home makeovers this spring. Stay posted to see what other makeovers we will be doing in our home this year. We recently did a makeover to the younger girls’ (Evee and Cora’s) bedroom. They love their new magical fairyland bedroom.

Breakdown of areas that were changed in the theater
Jase started with a BIG idea of adding a 2nd row of seating. With our large family of 8…we wanted to make sure everyone got a seat. That also meant for movie party nights, more friends will fit!
Jase built a platform for the 2nd row to sit on, so we could have that stadium seating effect.
We then turned attention to the projector screen, this area was really cluttered & needed to have a better look. We found some amazing red velvet curtains on Amazon and we created that iconic theater look with the curtains.
We took the old bookshelf there and turned it into a concession stand. Oh, the KIDS loved this section. Of course, we filled the shelf with lots of their favorite candies.
The last BIG surprise was Jase’s idea! Jase loves to surprise, this surprise was in the making for years. He took pictures of sketches of our favorite Disney & Pixar videos & had them printed large. He wanted to create that magical movie effect with the pictures all over the walls!
I enjoy doing makeovers in our home. Our theater room is more than just a movie room, it is a place for family connection and fun. Our family loves to watch shows together. Now we can fit the whole family comfortably in our newly remodeled theater room. This year we are focusing on spending more time together as a family serving and having fun. Our theater room will get a lot of use on our family fun nights!
What activities bring your family close together? Do you have a space in your home where your family loves to gather?
